Description
"The Leisure Attitude Measurement measures the individual's attitude toward leisure on three different levels: 1) cognitive, 2) affective, and 3) behavioral. It can be used to find areas that are preventing the individual from participating actively in leisure. The alpha reliability of the entire assessment was .94 with a range of .89 to .93 for the subscales. Limited normative data is available. However, individuals who are in the upper age, education, and income brackets tend to have positive beliefs about leisure activities, but tend to like them less than individuals in the lower level of those categories. Ragheb and Beard report that men tend to have more positive beliefs and feelings toward leisure activities than women. Subscale of the Idyll Arbor Leisure Battery. Also vailable in Spanish.
Reliability and validity information is available in Ragheb, M. G., and Beard, J. G. (1982). Measuring leisure attitude. Journal of Leisure Research, 14, 155-167."
