After multiple requests from inmates, and discussions with others, we are finally going to begin undertaking plans for trying to convince the Department of Corrections in multiple states to modify or remove their ban on role-playing games in prisons and related detention and mental health facilities...

This blog posting will be updated from time to time with status reports about our efforts to convince detention facilities to modify or remove their ban against role-playing games, and allow either RPG Research (or similar)  supervised RPG programs, or prisoner self-directed use of role-playing games.

A list of facilities, and the progress being made will be updated on this page as appropriate. We will eventually likely create a dedicated subsection of the site for this topic (and update this page accordingly to point people to all the resources related to this endeavor).

Beginning states:

  • California
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • Oregon
  • Washington (state)

More information will be posted here as it become available. Check back monthly!
