Saturday August 22nd, 2015 will be "Super Science Saturday" at WorldCon / Sasquan. I have been asked to present a (4' wide) poster for one of the events. Here is the abstract they have accepted from me...

Name: W.A. Hawkes-Robinson ("Hawke Robinson")

Academic Affiliation: Undergraduate at Eastern Washington University (senior) - Interdisciplinary degree in Recreation Therapy, Music Therapy, Neuroscience, and Research Psychology.

Poster Title: The Therapeutic & Educational aspects of Role-playing games in all forms: tabletop, live-action, & computer-based.

Abstract: The RPG Research Project, www.rpgresearch.com, studies the effects of role-playing games. The poster summarizes some program plans & research examples: 
* Improving  neuroplasticity for TBI clients with Choose-Your-Own -Adventure, computer-based-RPG, tabletop-RPG, & Live-Action Role-Playing (LARP)
* Developing public transit skills for Autism (ASD) clients using tabletop RPG & LARP
* Developing social & civic skills for ASD through tabletop RPG
* TR LARP for ASD toddlers to improve cooperative play, activity focus, & reduced fixation
* Adapted tabletop RPG for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing using American Sign Language (ASL)
* Gender bias in the gaming industry & community.
